How much does it cost to register my horse in HORSEtrac™?
There is a one-time membership fee of $18.50 to enroll a horse for life into the recovery network. There are no yearly or renewal fees. If you move or change any of your registered information, there is a $6.00 fee.
My horse is chipped with another brand of chip. It is not an AVID® chip. Can I still enroll in HORSEtrac™ and get a HORSEcard™?
Yes, of course. HORSEtrac™ is available to any one who has a microchipped horse, regardless of the type of chip.
How do I change the chip registration in HORSEtrac™ if I sell my horse?
The new owner must provide a bill of sale or certified proof of new ownership. The new owner will open a new HORSEtrac™ membership and pay to enroll the horse under his/her name.

 Where can I order WARNING signs to post on my property?
You can order embossed aluminum signs in two sizes to post on fences, barns, gates or trailers. They can be ordered on this website or at HORSEtracUSA.com. if you are enrolling your horse online into HORSEtrac.
Do you have decals to show my HORSEtrac™ membership?
Yes, you will receive a free decal with your HORSEtrac™ membership. More can be ordered at any time.
If someone steals my horse, can they just call up HORSEtrac™ and re-register him?
NO! And you will have called HORSEtrac™ and placed your horse on the Hot List to prevent this.
Do equine processing plants and slaughter facilities check for chips?
Yes. And they are supplied with up-to-date Hot Sheets and digital pictures of any microchipped horses that are reported to HORSEtrac™ as stolen or missing by their owners.
My horse is boarded at a barn. Can we all join HORSEtrac™?
Yes, and you can save money by ordering the AVID EquineChips as a group, or have your vet order them. Hold a 'MicroChip Day' and make sure everyone signs up! Each owner can enroll separately under their own name in HORSEtrac™. You can each have your own HORSEcard™. Post Warning signs on gates and stalls. |
